Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is being linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Yahoo Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are a possible destination for Luke Shaw should Manchester United decide to sell him this summer.
Shaw, 21, was seen as one of the hottest young prospects in English football during his time with Southampton, and Manchester United splashed the cash to land him in the summer of 2014.
So far, Shaw’s time at Old Trafford has been a major disappointment, as he has struggled for both form and fitness, limiting him to fewer than 50 appearances in almost three years.

Having been frozen out by Jose Mourinho, making just seven Premier League appearances this season, there have been suggestions that United could look to sell Shaw at the end of the season despite his potential.
Now, Yahoo Sport report that Tottenham Hotspur could be interested in signing Shaw, given that manager Mauricio Pochettino oversaw Shaw’s development at Southampton.

However, United would surely want to recoup much of the £27million they spent on Shaw in 2014 (BBC Sport), and Spurs should only pursue a deal for Shaw if their current first-choice, Danny Rose, leaves White Hart Lane.
A swap deal between the two looks unlikely, but spending so much money on another left back when Tottenham already have Rose and Ben Davies, two more than capable Premier League defenders seems like a luxury.
Having so much tied up in one position, when other areas need strengthening – such as central defence and the attack – is something that Tottenham shouldn’t be pursuing, as much as Pochettino rates Shaw.
If Rose was to leave for a club like Manchester City or even United at the end of the season, then Shaw would make an outstanding replacement with his pace and attacking ability, but signing him as cover for Rose instead of Davies? Tottenham’s money is better off spent elsewhere.
