Tottenham Hotspur need striking reinforcements after losing Harry Kane to injury.

Tottenham Hotspur should be desperately seeking a new striker after losing Harry Kane to injury in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.
Spurs saw Kane go down late in the game, and scans have revealed ankle ligament damage, which will rule him out for two months.
The situation has been made even worse by Son Heung-min heading off to the Asian Cup with South Korea, leaving Spurs with a lack of striking options.
It seems unlikely that Spurs will splash the cash on a new striker, even if they need one, so a loan deal makes more sense, tiding Tottenham over until Kane can return.
One option would be to pursue a Major League Soccer striker, as their season has already ended – and Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez fits the bill as the best fit for Tottenham.
25-year-old Martinez hit 35 goals in 39 games last season to help Atlanta win the MLS Cup, and he was handed with a bumper new contract until 2023 just days ago.
That doesn’t prevent a loan move though, and Martinez would surely fancy a shot at playing in the Premier League, even if only briefly.
The Venezuelan has pace and deadly finishing, and whilst an MLS player would usually come with a major risk due to the standard of football there, a loan deal for Martinez would eliminate that.

Some Spurs fans have been taking to Twitter to urge the club to target Martinez, and boss Mauricio Pochettino’s links to Atlanta make him an ideal target.
Atlanta’s president Darren Eales worked as a Tottenham director before heading to the States, and Pochettino’s friendship with him helped Atlanta appoint his friend and compatriot Gerardo Martino, as reported by AJC.
Those links should make a loan deal at least possible, and if Spurs can’t find any other targets that fit their bill, then they must call Eales and seek a favour to sign America’s top striker.
