Tottenham Hotspur should attempt to steal the Manchester City midfielder from the grasp of Real Madrid.

Mauricio Pochettino manager

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is well-known within the game for getting the best out of his young players.

The Argentine is arguably the best in the business at extracting the absolute utmost from every single player that he coaches, and with this in mind, Spurs should consider hijacking Real Madrid’s reported move for Manchester City midfielder Brahim Diaz.

According to Goal, Los Blancos are close to signing the 19-year-old for around £15.5 million, but a deal is yet to be complete, leaving the door open for Tottenham, should they wish to pursue a move for the Spaniard.

Diaz can play anywhere across the middle of the park, as well in more advanced positions, and he would be an excellent signing for Spurs.

The teenager is an incredible talent, and under the guidance of Pochettino at Tottenham, he could very well develop into an absolute superstar.

It could be argued that the north London outfit will find it hard to tempt Diaz into staying in the Premier League, rather than joining arguably the most illustrious club in the game.

Brahim Diaz of Manchester City warms up during the training session at Manchester City Football Academy on January 2, 2019 in Manchester, England.

Pochettino is overseeing a wonderfully exciting project at Spurs, however, and the attractive, expansive manner in which they play would surely appeal to the young Spaniard.

Diaz has a great future in the game, and Tottenham should at the very least try to ensure that he remains in England.
