Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily kinked with a move for the Everton man, but the Leicester City star has far more to offer.
Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Ross Barkley this summer, according to the Mirror, and whilst the 23-year-old possesses undoubted quality, Mauricio Pochettino should be focusing on signing Riyad Mahrez instead.
The Everton man can play in central midfield, or in the number 10 role, and it could be argued that the Lilywhtes already have players who possess the qualities that Barkley has.
The north London outfit already have a player who can carry the ball from deep in Mousa Dembele, and the number 10 role is unequivocally owned by Dele Alli.
Riyad Mahrez, on the other hand, would add something genuinely unique to Pochettino’s side.

The mercurial Foxes star has all of the attributes that would help Tottenham reach the next level, and he would undoubtedly ease the burden on Christian Eriksen.
The 26-year-old is unpredictable, has a direct style of play, and offers a goal threat as well as a creative one.
Following his less-than-impressive performances last term, he has a serious point to prove this time around, and that would surely see him come out all guns blazing for Spurs this season.
When Eriksen, Alli, or Harry Kane are not on top form, Tottenham suffer to an extent that costs them games, and the addition of the Algeria international would provide them with that added level of potency in the final third, which could in turn make all the difference for them this term.
The Leicester man is available for around £40 million this summer, according to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, and that would represent fantastic value for the Lilywhites in the currently inflated transfer market.
Spurs should not hesitate to sign Mahrez, and forget about Barkley in the process.
