The RB Leipzig ace would be a superb signing for Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a report from the Mirror, Tottenham are interested in signing Bordeaux winger Malcom for somewhere in the region of £40 million this summer, but they might just be better of looking elsewhere.

A cheaper option for them, and arguably a more reliable one, could be RB Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg, who has really impressed for Sweden at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The 26-year-old could be available for around £20 million this summer, according to a report from the Mirror, and that would surely appeal to Daniel Levy and Tottenham.

Every Love Island contestant if they were an England player – World Cup!

Forsberg is a hard working winger, and possesses electric pace. He is also extremely efficient in the final third, having chalked up 21 goals and 37 assists in 112 appearances for Leipzig.

The Swede is already extensively experienced in playing at the very highest level, and has earned 39 caps for his country – an impressive tally given his age.

He can play anywhere along the front-line – a trait that would see him slot perfectly into Mauricio Pochettino’s tactically fluid setup at Tottenham.

Forsberg could operate as a left or right winger, or alongside Harry Kane as part of a two-pronged attack, and for the reported fee of just £20 million, bringing the Swede to north London really is a no-brainer for Spurs.

One thing is for sure, although Malcom is undeniably talented, the RB Leipzig man would be the safer option for Spurs, and one that could turn out to be a really shrewd piece of business for the club.
