Tottenham Hotspur should consider making move for Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka.

Tottenham Hotspur remain the only club in the Premier League who are yet to make a signing this summer. Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he intends to sign players but only if he finds the requisite quality.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, with Eurosport France reporting earlier this week that the north London club have made a £13.3 bid for the 26-year-old.

While Seri would be a decent addition, Nice could demand a high transfer fee of over £30 million, as the player has a reported £35.8 million release clause in his contract.

The 22-year-old Schalke midfielder has been a star in Bundesliga this season, racking up some eye-catchy performances.

He is a box to box central midfielder, who is versatile enough to play as a defensive midfielder or even a winger when needed.

At 6’2, he has the physique that makes him dominate the midfield battles. He loves to carry the ball forward, has a good burst of pace, and has a consummate, tireless work ethic.

Capable of picking key passes, he is blessed with excellent technical abilities, and has the potential to become a complete midfielder.

He is one of the hottest properties in Europe, and several clubs are vying for his signature, including Arsenal. According to reports from The Sun, he would cost around £21 million, which should be well within Tottenham’s range.

German newspaper Bild has claimed that Goretzka is on Arsene Wenger’s wishlist. Wenger has reportedly monitored him for months, and wants to sign him this summer.

Spurs can tempt him with the offer of Champions League football, something their north London rivals would fail to do so. He would be a great addition to Pochettino’s squad.
