The Barcelona star would be an excellent addition for Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino manager

Tottenham started the summer with great intent, bringing in Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and Jack Clarke from Leeds United, before sending the latter back to the Championship club on a season long loan.

Things seems to have gone quiet in recent weeks, however.

Spurs’ pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso continues to rumble on, with the north London outfit refusing to pay more than £45 million for the midfielder, £18 million short of the Spanish outfit’s valuation of the Argentine, according to El Desmarque.

With this in mind, Tottenham should perhaps consider switching their attention elsewhere, and Barcelona’s Rafinha would be a great option for them.

According to Goal, he could be available for just €20 million (£18 million) this summer, and in today’s market, that would represent excellent value for Spurs.

Technical ability

He possesses fantastic technique, and his ability on the ball would surely prove to be a real asset for Tottenham.

Versatility

The Brazilian can play on either wing, in the number 10 position or as an orthodox central midfielder. This would provide Mauricio Pochettino with another option in all four positions mentioned, and it would enable the Argentine to play with more in-game flexibility.

Potential to become a superstar

At just 26, Rafinha still has his best years ahead of him, and if given the opportunity to play regularly for Spurs, he really could reach an entirely new level in north London.

Whilst signing Lo Celso would be a superb addition, Rafinha is equally as competent, and the fact that he will cost around a third of what the Argentine will, he might just be a better option for Tottenham.
