Spurs have been linked with a whole host of forwards already this month, including Roma’s Edin Dzeko (La Repubblica), but should they be looking at his teammate Patrik Schick instead?
The 22-year-old is a wonderful talent, and he seems to fit the profile of what Pochettino usually looks for in a player perfectly.
Standing at just under 6ft 3in tall, the Czech ace is strong in the air, but he also possesses fantastic mobility.
He is by far from the finished article, but that again makes him perfect for Tottenham, considering Poch’s track record of developing young talents into world-beaters.
The beauty of Schick is that he is young enough to accept a bit-part role when Kane returns, unlike Dzeko, who at 32, would be wanting to play week-in, week-out.
The former Sampdoria hitman has a lot to prove, and he would surely jump at the chance of joining Tottenham this month.
Schick would be an excellent addition for Spurs, and he would undoubtedly be more of a fit for the north London outfit’s business model than his teammate Dzeko.
And if Poch does bring the 22-year-old to north London, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Tottenham.
