Cameron Carter-Vickers is very much a forgotten man at Tottenham Hotspur.

After all, it’s been over four years since the big 23-year-old defender last made a competitive appearance for Spurs.

He once had a pretty promising future and was used as a fringe player under Mauricio Pochettino in cup competitions, but he’s going to be leaving North London this summer.

The USA international is only contracted to Tottenham until the summer of 2021 and there’s no chance of the Lilywhites handing him a new deal.

The centre-back, who joined the club in 2009, has had no fewer than six separate loans away from the Premier League giants and if he was going to make it in Jose Mourinho’s senior team, we’d know by now.

He is on loan with Bournemouth at the moment and seems to be impressing by all accounts, evident by the praise that Cherries boss – and ex-Tottenham stalwart – Jonathan Woodgate has lavished on him.

Woodgate labelled him a ‘very, very good defender’ this week and although it won’t work out in North London, he still has a lot to offer other clubs in English football, even if it’s only the Championship right now.

It was only a few years ago that Jan Vertonghen labelled him an ‘absolute beast’ [ESPN] for his physicality and anybody who can ruffle the Belgian’s feathers isn’t one to be trifled with.
