Tottenham Hotspur are set to miss out on the signing of Argentinian talent Gianluca Prestianni as he nears a move to Portuguese side Benfica.

Tottenham have been recruiting well in terms of landing players for the future.

We are now seeing the likes of Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr show huge potential in the Premier League.

Add in the recruitment of talents like Ashley Phillips, Jude Soonsup-Bell and Luka Vuskovic and you begin to see the makings of an exciting Spurs side in years to come.

Tottenham continue to look for young talent but one target looks set to slip through the net…

Tottenham Hotspur to miss out on Gianluca Prestianni

90min now report that Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in Velez Sarsfield wonderkid Gianluca Prestianni.

Tottenham, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers have all been interested in signing Prestianni.

However, the 17-year-old is now nearing a move to Portugal as he prepares to join Benfica.

The likes of Angel Di Maria, Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Gaitan have thrived when moving from Argentina to Benfica over the years.

Prestianni seemingly believes that moving to Portugal is the best step for his development, potentially teeing him up for a big move down the line.

Who is Argentinian talent Prestianni?

Prestianni hails from Ciudadela in Argentina, just about a 30-minute walk away from Velez Sarsfield’s home stadium.

It’s therefore no surprise that Prestianni came up in the Velez youth ranks, and he made his debut back in May 2022 at the age of just 16.

Primarily a right-sided winger, Prestianni has now played 39 times for Velez, notching three goals and one assist.

Prestianni has also picked up six caps for the Argentinian Under-17 side, bagging two goals.

Hailed as ‘fast’ and ‘special’ by Velez youth coordinator Guillermo Morigi, Prestianni is being backed for a huge future.

That future will now seemingly come with Benfica, but Tottenham may well keep tabs on him going forward.
