Porto would consider selling Sergio Oliveira for a bid in the region of £17 million with the Portugal international holding out for a move to Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, as reported by A Bola.
After producing a career-best 20 goals in all competitions last season, the late-blooming midfielder may have expected to play a slightly bigger role in the European Championships.
Instead, Oliveira made just two cameo appearances as Fernando Santos’s reigning champions dashed home quicker than an introvert at a house party, knocked out in the round of 16 by Belgium.
Now, with Portugal’s tournament coming to a premature end, Santos’s chosen few will now turn their attention to sorting out their futures at club level.
6ft 3in enforcer Joao Palhinha is a target for Wolves, Andre Silva has admirers at Arsenal, while Ruben Neves may also be on the move.
And so too could Sergio Oliveira.

Earlier this month, Record claimed the Porto academy graduate was keen on a move to Tottenham.

The report does suggest, however, Oliveira’s future was tied to that of Gennaro Gattuso’s.
Now the former Napoli and AC Milan manager won’t be taking over at Tottenham after all – whoever said fans have no influence at top-level football? – does this mean Oliveira’s hopes of a move to the English capital are over?
Well, perhaps not.
Gattuso might not be Tottenham’s new manager but Spurs can surely find a role for a midfielder who scored more goals than Erik Lamela, Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Gio Lo Celso combined last season.
A Bola suggests Spurs are still very much interested, although whether chairman Daniel Levy is willing to pay £18 million for a man who will turn 30 next year is anyone’s guess.
