The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit from north London this summer.

According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Inter Milan think they can sign Tottenham’s Mousa Dembele for somewhere in the region of €15-20 million (£13.3-17.7 million).

Spurs would be mad to accept an offer as low as that, however, in today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market.

The 30-year-old joined Tottenham from Fulham in the summer of 2012, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £15 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of the continent’s finest box-to-box midfielders.

Dembele has become so important to how Spurs play, with his drive and energy from the deep-lying midfield role proving to be vital to the way in which the Lilywhites want to play.

He is just two days away from turning 31, however, so this summer might just be the best time to sell him, although they quite simply must demand a lot more than the £13.3 million that has been reported by Calcio Mercato.

The Belgium international still has plenty of years left ahead of him, and if Tottenham are dead set on selling him, they must surely demand at least £30 million for his signature.

It will be vital for Spurs to replace Dembele, if and when he departs White Hart Lane, and in today’s market, that will not come cheap.
