Tottenham Hotspur may be hoping to sign Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, but he’s been picked as the man to replace Erling Haaland at Borussia Dortmund.

Kalajdzic is in a quite ridiculous run of form right now.

The Austrian striker has smashed four goals and one assist in his last six games for Stuttgart, making a huge impact in their battle against relegation.

A gangly striker at 6ft 7in tall, Kalajdzic has been compared to former Tottenham striker Peter Crouch.

With Tottenham seeking another striker to support Harry Kane up top, German newspaper Kicker claim that Fabio Paratici is showing a keen interest in Kalajdzic.

Antonio Conte’s side are really profiting from crosses into the box and adding a huge aerial threat like Kalajdzic could be ideal.

The problem for Tottenham is that they are far from the only club in the race to sign Kalajdzic this summer.

That’s because Borussia Dortmund appear to be very interested in luring Kalajdzic about 260 miles north from Stuttgart.

Bild claim that Dortmund are eyeing up Kalajdzic to replace Erling Haaland this summer with the Norwegian looking likely to leave.

Haaland will leave a major hole in Dortmund’s attack should he leave. Marco Rose would then need another classic centre forward to mesh with Donyell Malen.

Kalajdzic fits the bill for Dortmund, and they seemingly know that Stuttgart need to sell this summer.

Kalajdzic has rejected a new contract with the club and will be able to walk away in 2023. That leaves Stuttgart needing to sell, eyeing around €20million (£17million) for their star striker.

That’s a mere fraction of the fee Dortmund will rake in for Haaland, but they would be banking on 24-year-old Kalajdzic making a big step forward.

Tottenham will still have hope of a deal, but Haaland’s big summer transfer could leave Paratici and Conte scrambling for other targets instead of Kalajdzic.
