Tottenham are interested in Ronnie Edwards – and a mystery transfer bid has now been rejected by his club Peterborough United.
Tottenham have already snapped up Ivan Perisic and will be active in terms of targeting many other signings this summer.
One thing Tottenham have to be mindful of is their homegrown numbers, especially if the likes of Harry Winks leaves this summer.
Fraser Forster coming in will help but Tottenham need to bring in some young English players to help their squad quota moving forward.
Tottenham are interested in Ronnie Edwards
One player linked with a move to Tottenham of late is Peterborough talent Edwards.
The Daily Mail reported in April that Crystal Palace and Tottenham are both interested in luring Edwards to London.
Edwards, 19, was previously in non-league with Barnet but joined Peterborough back in 2020.
The teenager has now emerged as a star at Peterborough, playing regularly in the Championship this past season.
Edwards couldn’t stop Peterborough from suffering relegation but he is now attracting major Premier League interest.
The Sun reported earlier this week that Aston Villa and Southampton have joined Tottenham and Palace in the race for Edwards.
Peterborough director of football Barry Fry claimed in April that Tottenham have been watching regularly whilst there is interest in Germany too.

Fry has now offered more comments about the defender, telling the Peterborough Telegraph that a mystery bid has been rejected.
That offer was allegedly around £2million which is nowhere near what Peterborough are seeking.
Fry claims there have been no discussions with Aston Villa but Edwards does want to stay in England rather than go to Germany.
Fry is also expecting interest to ramp up after Edwards returns from international duty with the England Under-19’s, with Peterborough seemingly open to rejecting all bids and keeping him.
“We’ve had many conversations with many clubs about Ronnie,” said Fry. “And we have had one bid from a Premier League club which we turned down as it fell well short of our valuation of the player. I’m not surprised he is getting linked with some big clubs, although I have not spoken to anyone from Southampton or Aston Villa.”
“Ronnie has told me his preference is to stay in England and play in the Premier League, but he’s also happy to stay with us if we decide to keep him. He’s under contract for another three years so there is no rush. If our asking price isn’t met he won’t be leaving. I doubt anything will develop until Ronnie returns from England Under 19 duty in the summer. I would imagine some big clubs will be watching him closely in that tournament,” he added.
