Tottenham have posted a hilarious six-word tweet in response to being mocked on Twitter by Dulux earlier today.
The north Londoners announced a partnership with the well-known paint brand this morning, only for things to quickly turn sour.
Whoever runs Dulux’s Twitter account began mocking the club’s lack of trophies, posting a photo of an empty trophy cabinet.
Also, Dulux’s Twitter account made fun of the club’s centre-back options.
A dog was used in the photoshoot announcing the partnership, and Dulux claimed that it could do a better job at centre-back than the likes of Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.
It was a bizarre way to begin their partnership with José Mourinho’s side – the tweets have now been deleted, and Dulux issued an apology.
However, the jokes didn’t stop there.
In response to Dulux’s apology, Tottenham posted a hilarious, paint-themed joke which you can see below.
Spurs also tweeted a photoshopped image of the aforementioned dog’s head on Matt Doherty’s body, deleting the tweets.
This was in reference to the club’s announcement of the Irishman’s arrival over the summer, in which he had to delete his past tweets praising Arsenal.
It really was a baffling way for Dulux to begin their partnership with Tottenham – hopefully nobody lost their job as a result!
