Alasdair Gold has moved to confirm Daniel Levy’s interest in bringing Nikola Milenkovic to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.

Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier in 2021 that Tottenham were keen on signing the Fiorentina centre-back, who stands at 6’5.

According to La Nazione in Italy, Spurs even submitted a written request to bring the Serbian powerhouse to North London in January, only nothing materialised.

But now Gold, who writes exclusively about Tottenham for Football London, has confirmed the Lilywhites’ interest in the big man, while reiterating previous information about other central defenders.

He told a Q&A on Football London: “I know Spurs do like Andersen, Dunk and Milenkovic among others.”

The 23-year-old is valued by the Serie A club at around £22 million [La Nazione] and it’s encouraging that Levy and Tottenham are actively keen on so many central defenders.

Davinson Sanchez’s woes at Newcastle United last weekend, coupled with Toby Alderweireld’s age and Eric Dier’s struggles, mean that the Spurs chairman absolutely needs to bolster this position during the summer months and it does look very much like they plan on doing just that.
