According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur are pursuing Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
Spurs are looking for a striker to offer cover behind Harry Kane, and Jose Mourinho’s men are casting the net far and wide.
They have looked towards Austria, where Daka has been a star since Salzburg lost both Erling Haaland and Takumi Minamino in January.
The Zambian hitman bagged 27 goals and 12 assists in 45 games for Salzburg last season, and has started the new season in style by smashing four goals in one cup game.
Daka, 21, looks set to be a star of the future, with his blistering pace a constant threat, whilst he can also play out wide if needed.
Tottenham aren’t alone in the race though, with Far Post in his native Zambia claiming that Arsenal and Liverpool are both in the race for Daka’s signature.
So where could Spurs find an advantage? Well, the fact that Daka’s agent is a former Tottenham player could help.
Daka is represented by 12 Management, who were founded by ex-Spurs striker Frederic Kanoute, and also represent Southampton’s Moussa Djenepo alongside a host of Red Bull Salzburg talents.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy oversaw Kanoute’s arrival at Tottenham in 2003, and that prior relationship with the Malian may just give Spurs a slight advantage.
The problem for Spurs will be that Daka’s price tag will only rise if he continues to score like this, and he could soon end up out of Tottenham’s price range if they don’t move soon.
They could hope for a favour from Kanoute, but Spurs may face a situation of trying to move for Daka now – or risk missing out to a Premier League rival.
