There are reports in Italy that Tottenham Hotspur are watching in-form Cagliari player Albin Ekdal and may try a January approach.
Albin Ekdal shot to fame when he inspired Cagliari’s 4-1 thrashing of Inter with a hat-trick earlier in the season and he seems to have attracted the interest of Tottenham.
The son of a well-known Swedish TV personality, Ekdal has broken into the Swedish national side and there’s a sense that the 25-year-old is on the rise.
In the past it has been suggested that Aston Villa are watching Ekdal, but of late those links seem to have dried up and Spurs may now step in.
Ekdal has previously been valued at just £5 million and could be a great buy at that price, but his price tag must be increasing with each week.
It may also be hard to persuade the player to leave Sardinia as he recently described playing for Cagliari as ‘like being on holiday’.
