Tottenham Hotspur need to find defenders this summer, and Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu is emerging as a very real option.
Fabio Paratici is on board as director of football, and the Italian needs to recruit some new faces – even with no new manager in place.
Tottenham’s defence needs bolstering, and it looks like Paratici is using his knowledge of Italian football to bring a new face to North London.
Tottenham confident of Tomiyasu deal
The Sun report that Tottenham are now confident of signing Bologna star Takehiro Tomiyasu in a £15million deal.
Atalanta have been strongly linked, but it’s now thought that Tottenham are moving in for what they feel would be a ‘top’ signing.
The Japanese international can play at centre back or right back, and made 31 appearances for Bologna last season. He’s described as being desperate for a move to the Premier League, playing right into Tottenham’s hands.

Tomiyasu ‘perfect’ for the Premier League
What should really excite Tottenham fans is that Tuttobologna’s Manuel Minguzzi has previously raved about Tomiyasu to The Chronicle.
Minguzzi stated that Tomiyasu is ‘perfect’ for the Premier League, believing that he could play for a ‘top club’ in England’s top flight.
That could now happen with Tottenham, and with Spurs needing somebody to come in and make an instant impact in defence, those comments about Tomiyasu should serve as a major boost.
