Can Falque hit the heights in the Italian top flight.

One player that Tottenham Hotspur have always believed to be very talented was their young Spaniard Iago Falque. The flying winger has an illustrious history. Spells at Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona were the precursor to his Spurs arrival in 2012.

But he struggled with injury problems at White Hart Lane and had relatively forgetful campaigns with Southampton and Almeria before a more productive time at Rayo Vallecano last season.

Now, at the age of 24, it was time for Spurs to decide to either give him a go, or the heave-ho this summer. They went with the latter.

He joined Genoa in the summer and after initial struggles he has recently discovered his form for the club.

Today he scored as the Serie A side lost to Palermo. They lost the game 2-1 but Falque will be pleased to have hit the back of the net once again.

He is in a good run of form at the moment. This goal came on the back of two other goalscoring performances. He netted against Parma in the week and against Cagliari last weekend, taking his tally for the season to nine in 25 appearances.

Maybe Falque is finally starting to live up to his potential.
