Tottenham Hotspur’s home record will make Manchester United jealous.

Tottenham Hotspur are now seven points above Manchester United in the Premier League table, despite losing to the Red Devils two months ago.

The reason for their advantage is clear – a superior home record.

United flopped again at Old Trafford at the weekend, drawing at home to Bournemouth.

Jose Mourinho prides his teams on being tough to beat at home, and United have achieved that, defeated just once at Old Trafford – but they have struggled to win.

Tottenham meanwhile have a near immaculate home record, beating Everton at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Spurs have won 12 of 14 home matches, drawing two, possessing the best home record in the Premier League.

Manchester United have won six, drawn seven and lost one, the ninth best record – picking up fewer points at their supposed fortress than Burnley and West Brom have at their home stadiums.

Unfortunately for Tottenham they are moving out of White Hart Lane after this season – with their final home fixture coming against Manchester United.

How Jose Mourinho must envy Tottenham’s record, and wonder where United would be with the same ruthlessness.
