Ilaix Moriba rejected a move to Tottenham Hotspur back in August, but is already described as being ‘desperate’ to leave RB Leipzig.

Tottenham went for Moriba deal

Fabio Paratici seemed keen to add a young, dynamic and athletic midfielder for the future before August’s transfer deadline.

Tottenham subsequently chased a deal to sign Moriba from Barcelona alongside Emerson Royal.

Whilst Emerson joined, Tottenham couldn’t get Moriba on board.

Sky Germany reported that Moriba rejected Tottenham in favour of signing for RB Leipzig instead.

Tottenham then signed Pape Matar Sarr from Metz instead, and Moriba may be regretting his decision.

Moriba already wants to leave RB Leipzig

German newspaper Bild report that Moriba ‘desperately’ wants to leave RB Leipzig in January.

It’s stated that a loan move is possible with Leipzig not quite ready to give up on the midfielder completely.

Moriba, 18, has only played five times for Leipzig. He hasn’t started a single game and has played just 90 minutes.

Compared to Yaya Toure, Moriba has been a real disappointment since rejecting Tottenham.

Moriba will head off to the Africa Cup of Nations with Guinea and will hope for greater fortunes in 2022.
