Ray Parlour has suggested on talkSPORT (7:09am, June 25, 2021) reported Everton managerial target Rafael Benitez for Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Arsenal star has asked whether Tottenham would want to bring the ex-Liverpool and Chelsea boss to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Parlour has added that Spurs would be able to give the Spaniard more money than Everton.

Benitez is on the radar of Everton and could be announced as the manager of the Merseyside club by the end of the week, according to The Athletic.

Parlour said on talkSPORT (7:09am, June 25, 2021): “Would Spurs try to get Rafael Benitez? They would probably give Rafael Benitez more money to spend.”

Rafael Benitez to Tottenham Hotspur?

Benitez is a very good manager.

The Spaniard is a winner who has done extremely well in his managerial career so far.

The problem is that Benitez’s football is not great, and Tottenham fans will not be happy with that.

Spurs played some lovely football under Mauricio Pochettino, and fans of the North London club would love to see that again.

The other issue is that Benitez is a former Chelsea boss.

Okay, the Spaniard was the ‘interim-manager’ at Stamford Bridge, but he was still in charge of Spurs’ London rivals.

With Benitez now seemingly on his way to Everton, it is unlikely that any move to Tottenham will happen, even if Spurs chairman Daniel Levy tries.
