Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Sebastián Driussi.

Tottenham Hotspur are pushing hard to sign Argentine forward Sebastian Driussi, The Independent report.

Driussi, 20, is River Plate’s most promising young forward and Tottenham are claimed to be ready to open talks with the Argentine champions over a deal.

River though would want Driussi to be loaned back to them, and would want a fee in the region of £10 million.

Tottenham’s interest is not new. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has a long standing interest in the youngster.

The Sun reported in 2014 shortly after Pochettino’s appointment at Spurs that he was keen on signing Driussi, who was 18 at the time.

At that point it was claimed River wanted £6 million plus add-ons, and Tottenham did not pursue a deal further.

Driussi has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 10 goals in 14 games for River, and is currently their top scorer.

This included a goal against their rivals Boca Juniors last month, enhancing his reputation despite his side’s 4-2 loss.
