Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United youngsters had disappointing moments for England’s youth teams, while Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United kids were heroes.

England under-19s
The team won an eventful game against Denmark 3-2 to give them a victory in the first of their qualifying matches for this summer’s European under-19 Championships.
The match took place in Caen, France, with Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown, formerly of West Brom, captaining the side.
Brown was on the scoresheet in the first half as was Birmingham City’s much coveted young talent Demarai Gray.
The match was poised at 2-2 before an eventful final few minutes. Manchester City defender Ashley Smith-Brown scored the winner with a superb long range effort, while Tottenham Hotspur prospect Harry Winks was sent off for picking up a second booking.
England under-18s
England hosted Switzerland in a friendly at St George’s Park, and lined up with Chelsea prospect Dominic Solanke in attack.
The Blues forward was invited to train with the England first team earlier in the week, but was outshone here by Newcastle United youngster Adam Armstrong.
Armstrong scored the winner in a 1-0 victory, scoring a scrappy goal from close range early in the second half. The under-18s play the same opponents on Saturday.
England under-17s
Dominic Solanke is not the only exciting striker at Chelsea. Ike Ugbo made a name for himself by scoring a brace to give England’s under-17 side a victory over Romania.
Ugbo was given a standing ovation as he was substituted in the second half and there is one player in particular who will have been pleased with his efforts.
Leeds United academy goalkeeper Will Huffer was caught in possession by Romanian attacker Adrian Petre, who took the ball away from him and rolled it into an empty net.
The gaffe saw Romania draw level before Ugbo hit his second of the game to secure a 2-1 victory. The match was a European qualifier at under-17 level, and was the last the side played in their current stretch, winning all three.
