Tottenham Hotspur go into Sunday’s game with Newcastle United as red-hot favourites, despite some issues at left-back.

Tottenham could well be without Sergio Reguilon and Ben Davies, leaving their options looking short in the position.

There has been some talk among Spurs fans that Dennis Cirkin should be handed his debut, but it seems unlikely that Jose Mourinho will hand the 18-year-old his debut.

Instead, it could be that Japhet Tanganga starts down the left.

Tanganga isn’t entirely comfortable on the left of the backline, but he has played there before, and he seems the most likely option to feature, if Reguilon doesn’t make it.

Elsewhere, Mourinho is likely to stick by much of the Tottenham team that won their game against Aston Villa before the international break.

Carlos Vinicius, who Tottenham have now informed Benfica they will only pay £17 million for (Daily Mail) looks set to continue up-front alongside Harry Kane in what will only be his second Premier League start of the season, while Giovani Lo Celso may well be given another chance to impress.

Spurs XI: Lloris; Tanganga, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Aurier; Hojbjerg, Ndombele; Lucas, Lo Celso; Kane, Vinicius.
