Tottenham Hotspur return to action this afternoon as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Spurs were dismal in last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at Leeds United, and must hit back with a better performance today.

Tottenham must win to stand any lingering chance of breaking into the top four, and this may well be interim boss Ryan Mason’s last opportunity to stake a claim for the job on a permanent basis.

Mason may be tempted to make changes for today’s game after the woeful showing at Leeds, and here is our predicted lineup for today’s game…

Hugo Lloris was one of the few players to play well at Leeds last weekend and will surely start between the sticks today.

Serge Aurier may face pressure at right back but we’re backing him to start, with the similar hit-and-miss Sergio Reguilon on the left.

It’s surely time for Joe Rodon to be given another chance in place of Eric Dier following his woeful performance last weekend, and he should partner Toby Alderweireld at centre back.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is almost guaranteed to play every week in midfield, and £55m ace Tanguy Ndombele should partner him today after only coming on as a substitute at Leeds.

The attacking quartet deserve to start again, meaning Gareth Bale and Son Heung-min would start on the flanks, with Dele Alli as the number 10.

Harry Kane would then lead the line in attack, with Carlos Vinicius unlikely to even be in the squad as his time at Tottenham draws to a disappointing close.

Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Erik Lamela, Moussa Sissoko, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and Giovani Lo Celso figure to be contenders for the bench.

Tottenham predicted XI: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Rodon, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Ndombele; Bale, Alli, Son; Kane.
