Tottenham have now posted a very strange tweet involving footage of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

Spurs uploaded a video which showed the England international and the South Korea international guessing the career paths of current and old teammates.

What is bizarre about that, you may ask? Let’s go into more detail…

What’s the story?

Well, Tottenham basically sat Kane and Son down to show them a list of failed transfers made by the recruitment team at Spurs over the years.

The likes of Georges-Kévin Nkoudou, Jack Clarke, Pierluigi Gollini, Vincent Janssen and Clinton N’Jie popped up during the guessing game.

In many ways, it almost felt insulting to Kane and Son – two of the best players in Tottenham’s history.

Neither have won a single trophy at Spurs despite being among the best forwards in Europe for many, many years now, and the video practically showed the pair how a number of poor signings have let them down.

One Tottenham fan asked in the comments section if the video had been posted by accident, whereas another described it as an “ill-judged piece of content” to publish online.

We wouldn’t be surprised if both Kane and Son walked away after filming the video angered by just how disastrous the recruitment has been during their time in N17.

Kane & Son video doesn’t scratch beneath the surface for Tottenham

The aforementioned names – such as Nkoudou and Clarke – were not expensive mistakes, and do not even begin to scratch beneath the surface in regards to Tottenham’s woeful recruitment.

Sky Sports recently posted a graphic showing Tottenham’s top ten record signings, and there is not a single success story on the list from a total spend of £387m – as you can see below.

Whether they’re an expensive signing or a cheaper option, Tottenham rarely seem to get it right in the transfer market, which has left them with an incoherent squad full of players they will struggle to sell.
