Alan Brazil suggested that Tottenham Hotspur need to pursue their own Eden Hazard or Philippe Coutinho, but one Spurs player may disagree.

Alan Brazil recently suggested on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (broadcast on 28th September 2017; 6:53 am) that he would like to see Tottenham go out and target a playmaker who can provide a sparkle in the middle of the park.
Spurs boast one of the best squads in the Premier League, and Brazil suggested that a player similar to either Eden Hazard or Philippe Coutinho is all that is stopping Mauricio Pochettino’s men from taking that final step.

“I’d love to see a Hazard or Coutinho, that type of player in the midfield,” he told The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (broadcast on 28th September 2017; 6:53 am).
“I think that’s maybe just what’s missing, a sparkle in midfield. I think defensively, they’re very good, up front brilliant, [they need] a little playmaker in there.”

Though Brazil believes that that kind of attacking midfielder is the last piece in the jigsaw for Tottenham, one of Spurs’ key men surely has the quality to prove that he provides that particular piece already, and thus, Spurs do not need to be looking for their own Hazard or Coutinho.
Christian Eriksen has been exceptional again this season playing just behind Harry Kane. He has scored twice and contributed two assists for Spurs in the Premier League so far this term, and generally looks like he may be about to make something special happen every time he has the ball at his feet.
And his form during the last two Premier League campaigns certainly suggests that there is plenty more to come from the Denmark international, with the 25-year-old scoring 14 top flight goals across the last two seasons, while he managed a staggering 15 assists last term and 13 the year before.
In contrast, Hazard scored 20 and contributed eight assists in the last two seasons, while Coutinho has scored a combined 21 goals and added 12 assists in the same period, so it is surely fair to say that Eriksen has done enough to be put in that same category.
