Joe Rodon’s brother, Sam, did little to calm down rumours that Gareth Bale could return to Tottenham Hotspur.
Bale back… again?
Reports in Spain suggested that Bale could re-join Tottenham in January as Antonio Conte is keen to land him.
The claims appeared questionable, but they certainly were enough to excite Sam Rodon.
Joe’s brother posted multiple tweets about Bale, which left some Tottenham fans questioning whether he knew something about the Welsh winger’s future.
Could it happen?
Bale’s time at Tottenham under Jose Mourinho didn’t go according to plan.
While he did make an impact when played, he wasn’t backed to start as regularly as he may have hoped.
Bale often was left out by Mourinho and although Ryan Mason did give him a run of games towards the end of the season, the move didn’t turn out to be particularly productive.
Whether that would put Bale off returning to Tottenham again remains to be seen.
That being said the 32-year-old’s contract at Real Madrid does expire in the summer, meaning he will need to find a new club sooner rather than later.
With fans back in stadiums now, Bale would at least know that he would receive more love than he did in his previous stint at Spurs.
There has to be questions whether he would find into Antonio Conte’s system though.
While Spurs may benefit from his quality on the ball, Conte has demanded a high level of fitness from his players and has already spoken about the intense pressing style he wants to implement.
With Bale now in the twilight of his career there has to be questions over whether he could fit into a system like that, and for now we feel that the latest rumours should be treated with a pinch of salt.
