Harvey White has left Tottenham for the second time to join League One side Derby County on loan until the end of the season – and plenty have responded to his post on Instagram, including Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil and plenty more.

White, 21, has left on loan just weeks after making his Premier League debut in a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace. Only his third senior outing for Spurs. Now, he joins Derby – his second loan away from the club, after a stint at Portsmouth.

A regular in Tottenham’s U21 side, White can probably feel hard done by to have only played three times for Spurs. But he joins a Derby side pushing to go up in their first season in League One. They lost 2-0 to West Ham last time out.

Sitting in fourth place in the the third tier, Derby had gone 19 games unbeaten before the loss to West Ham in the FA Cup. Attention now switches to returning to the Championship, with a home game against Morecambe on Saturday.

White is a serious addition given his form for the second string, having a hand in 33 goals in 66 games for Spurs 21’s. He took to Instagram after completing a loan move to Derby – underling his delight, and his excitement to get going.

A succession of players left Spurs to go on loan in January. Djed Spence has teamed up with Joe Rodon at Rennes. Gil joined Sevilla, a return to his old club. Matt Doherty was supposed to go on loan to Atletico Madrid on deadline day.

But the Ireland star has left on a free transfer, in what was a bit of a surprise. White, meanwhile, needed to go on loan to Derby or another club this month, with the midfielder struggling to break in. Gil, Gollini and others responded.
