Paulo Dybala had the option of joining many clubs this summer, including going to Tottenham Hotspur, but instead, he opted to join Jose Mourinho at Roma.

The 28-year-old was welcomed by Roma fans like he’s Francesco Totti long lost son, thousands upon thousands turned up to welcome him in Rome, as posted by ESPN.

Tottenham defender Cristian Romero, who is his fellow countryman, reacted to Dybala’s Instagram post by posting in the comments section ‘come on, bro’, whilst former Premier League striker, Falcao added ‘exciting’.

“At 21:21, I had a UNIQUE moment,” posted Dybala on IG. “Not even in my wildest dreams would I have imagined Something like this. Rome, Rome, Rome. Roma. Thank you.”

CAN JOSE MOURINHO WIN THE SERIE A TITLE?

Jose Mourinho wins trophies everywhere he goes… well, except for at Tottenham and that’s something Spurs fans won’t forgive Daniel Levy for, especially if their drought continues.

But in Rome, the trophy-laden coach is already a popular figure after guiding the team to Europa Conference League champions last season, their first-ever European trophy.

With Dybala not under Mourinho’s wings, the Portuguese coach is backed like he wasn’t when he was at Tottenham, could he do the unthinkable?

The last time Roma won the Serie A title was in the 2000/1 season, their third title at the time, they have finished runners-up on numerous occasions since then, but haven’t been able to get over the line.

Whilst others will be expected to fair better than them next season, with Tammy Abraham scoring goals regularly, adding with Dybala’s arrival and the genius of Mourinho, then those fans will be dreaming big.

The same feelings will be felt across north London because with Antonio Conte in the dugout, Spurs fans also want to add a trophy to their cabinet and this is the best chance they will ever get.
