Tony Cascarino thinks Tottenham Hotspur can have an ‘exciting’ period under Ange Postecoglou even if Harry Kane is sold this summer.
There has been a lot of talk about Harry Kane’s future at Spurs, with suggestions that Bayern Munich are eager to bring him on board, but with Daniel Levy in the boardroom, nothing is ever easy.
For Cascarino, it’s pretty clear that the England captain needs to leave, but he added that with Ange Postecoglou’s ‘attacking football’ more good times are ahead for the club, as he told talkSPORT.
The previous campaign was one to forget for Spurs because they ended up finishing outside of the European places for the first time in over a decade.
Despite that, their star striker still managed to hit 30 Premier League goals, even though most of his teammates around him declined in big ways.
If Levy decides to sell Kane, then Cascarino thinks life can still be ‘exciting’ for the supporters.
“Harry Kane is a player that has to win things,” said Cascarino. “There can be an exciting period for Spurs as well. Moving away and going beyond Harry Kane.
“Having a manager, if you have ever watched Celtic, then you would know that he is going to implement the same style of attacking football and with high tempo.
“I am sure whatever money they get for Kane (they will invest).”
Postecoglou’s style will lift fans
There is one thing about losing games and being frustrated with that, but it’s even more annoying if the team is playing sleepwalking football.
That has been the case ever since Mauricio Pochettino walked out of the doors and it has seen the Spurs faithful become more and more negative from the stands.
But under big Ange, things are about to change because, regardless of the result, he gets fans off their seat and ensures that his players are playing on the front foot.
