Tottenham Hotspur kept up their unbeaten start to the Premier League season as they beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs had won three and drawn two of their opening five games, but were presented with something of a banana skin as they travelled north to take on newly-promoted Middlesbrough.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men had few problems though, as in-form winger Son Heung-min put Spurs 2-0 up with two goals in the opening 25 minutes of the game.
The South Korean international was sensational as Tottenham took control of the game, but Spurs did have to defender resolutely in the final stages of the match after Ben Gibson had pulled a goal back for Middlesbrough.
Spurs grabbed all three points in the end though, meaning they sit second behind Manchester City – the team they take on at White Hart Lane next weekend.

After the final whistle, Spurs players took to Twitter to react to their victory, with winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou celebrating making his Premier League debut – even if he was only on the pitch for a matter of seconds.
The wide man, signed from Marseille on deadline day, hadn’t featured in the Premier League but came on against Middlesbrough, and admitted he was happy to have mad his bow.

Victor Wanyama, Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Sissoko, Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Ben Davies also took to Twitter to celebrate all three points, with many of them hailing the fans for their support on Teesside.
