Tottenham player ratings vs QPR: Kane and Mason impress yet again

Tottenham beat QPR 2-1 at Loftus Road earlier today. Here’s how their players rated…

Hugo Lloris 7 – certainly bailed Walker out with a great save from Charlie Austin, had little chance with Sandro’s well placed finish from the edge of the box.

Kyle Walker 5 – terrible error to present Austin with a chance on goal, and continues to look shaky defensively – even if he tried to get forward throughout.

Eric Dier 6 – generally assured, but had the occasional problem with the physicality of Bobby Zamora in the QPR attack.

Jan Vertonghen 7 – not afraid to go forward, bringing the ball out from the back on a couple of occasions and had an intriguing battle with Austin too.

Ben Davies 6 – fairly solid if unspectacular, but didn’t offer as much as Danny Rose does going forward bar a couple of decent crosses.

Ryan Mason 8 – one of the best performances Mason has put in lately, showing great energy and tackling to help Tottenham dominate the midfield.

Nabil Bentaleb 7 – held the midfield well and passed the ball effectively in another mature display from the Algerian.

Nacer Chadli 7 – had some moments of true quality, just needs to make them more consistent. After impressing against Swansea in midweek, he’s bounced back well from a poor performance against Chelsea last weekend.

Christian Eriksen 7 – bright and floated around looking for the ball, given far too much room in the first half. Rattled the post with a stunning long range strike.

Andros Townsend 6 – keen to attack and run at Yun Suk-young. Caused problems without consistent product after his cross for the opening goal, but was a good outlet on the counter attack.

Harry Kane 8 – another great showing from Kane, who took both of his goals like a seasoned pro. Led the line superbly as well in a fantastic all-round display.

Substitutes

Mousa Dembele 6 – had a couple of bright moments when he came on for Townsend with 25 minutes to play.

Erik Lamela – struggled to get into the game in his ten minutes on the pitch.

Benjamin Stambouli – wasn’t on long enough to make an impact.
