A Tottenham Hotspur defender has been speaking about the under-21s’ need to increase their goal threat
Tottenham Hotspur defender Bongani Khumalo has been speaking to the club’s official website about the under-21 match with Southampton earlier this week.
The two sides played out a 0-0 draw and while the South African was happy with the defensive display he pointed out a key area his side will have to improve in the coming weeks.
“In the next game we need to be more dynamic going forward and just be more of a goal threat,” he said.
The 28-year-old Tottenham centre-back may have joined the club in 2011 but he is still to make a senior appearance for them.
Following loan spells at Preston North End, Reading, PAOK and Doncaster Rovers he now appears to be playing out time at Tottenham, with his contract set to expire this summer.
But it is clear he still wants the best for his young teammates, advising them to focus on being more dynamic in their upcoming under-21 matches.
The side contains a lot of young talent tipped to become the next wave of players at Spurs, with Harry Winks and Josh Onomah among them, but Khumalo may soon be seeking pastures new.
