Tottenham want Piotr Zielinski but the Napoli midfielder has played down any talk of a summer move away from the Italian club.
Fabio Paratici has already pounced for two signings having landed Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic on free transfers.
Yet Tottenham still need more reinforcements and Antonio Conte will want money spent after guiding the club into the Champions League.
Harry Winks looks set to leave Tottenham this summer so adding another midfielder will be absolutely vital for Spurs.
A number of midfielders have been linked with Tottenham of late and Napoli ace Zielinski has emerged as a potential signing.
Tottenham want Piotr Zielinski
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reported in May that Tottenham were showing a real interest in signing Zielinski.
Area Napoli then claimed that Tottenham had enquired into just how much Napoli would want for Zielinski’s services.
Napoli quoted Tottenham a huge €50million (£43million) for Zielinski with Paratici and Conte no doubt aware of his quality.
Zielinski, 28, haș been a star in Italy for 10 years now having turned out for Udinese and Empoli before his 2016 move to Napoli.
A creative and technically-gifted playmaker, Zielinski has been hailed as a ‘really top player’ by his former Udinese teammate Bruno Fernandes.
The Polish international has been linked with a Premier League move for years now and is regularly touted for a switch to Liverpool.

Zielinski haș now commented on his future, telling Sky Sports in Italy that he doesn’t understand where the rumours about his future are coming from.
Zielinski claims to be happy with Napoli even after a difficult second half of the season and hasn’t once agitated for a move away.
“I don’t understand where these rumours come from, I don’t think my adventure at Napoli will end this summer,” said Zielinski. “I have an important contract that will last another two years. In Naples I feel good, even if somewhere I read the opposite. The desire to leave the club never came out of my mouth.
“Yes, I had a difficult period in the second half of the season but this does not jeopardise my stay in this team. I want to continue with Napoli because they are a great team,” he added.
£43million for a 28-year-old may seem a little rich for Tottenham’s liking and a move to North London now looks unlikely.
Tottenham are instead wrapping up a deal for another midfielder in Brighton and Hove Albion’s Yves Bissouma, who will join for £30million this week – £13million less than Zielinski.
