Tottenham Hotspur are chasing Piero Hincapie but he didn’t exactly cover himself in glory for Ecuador against Senegal on Tuesday.
Ecuador took on Senegal in what became something of a win-or-go-home game.
The Netherlands were favourites to claim top spot and did so with a 2-0 win over Qatar.
Ecuador went in with four points, a point ahead of Senegal, but ended up being leapfrogged after a 2-1 defeat.
Ismaila Sarr put Senegal in front and whilst Moises Caicedo pulled Ecuador level, Kalidou Koulibaly bagged the winner for Senegal.

Senegal will now advance into the knockout stages and take on England in the last 16 on Sunday night.
Ecuador will be devastated and defender Piero Hincapie will probably feel worse than most.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender is a wanted man at the moment with The Mirror claiming that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all interested.
Hincapie is part of the popular rise of left-footed centre backs in the modern game.
Managers love to have left-footed centre backs in order to have natural angles to play out from teams pressing against them.
Chelsea and Tottenham both play with three-man defences and would seemingly love to add Hincapie on the left side.
However, they may not have been too impressed with Hincapie against Senegal on Tuesday.
Hincapie gave away the penalty for Sarr to open the scoring, clattering into the Watford attacker in rather clumsy fashion.
“I’m not sure Hincapie can have too many complaints about that, he absolutely took him out,” said BBC Sport commentator Robyn Cowen.
Every defender is going to give away penalties at some stage but the cumbersome nature of this penalty may leave some a little worried.
Hincapie is still only 20 and has plenty of learning and developing to do as a defender.
Quick and comfortable on the ball, Hincapie isn’t the biggest defender at 6ft tall and may just need some work to cut out errors like the one against Senegal.
