Tottenham want Nicolo Zaniolo and new Roma teammate Paulo Dybala has called on the playmaker to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
Dybala was presented as a Roma player on Tuesday having joined on a free transfer from Serie A rivals Juventus.
The Argentinian was given a truly unbelievable reception as 8,000 Roma fans turned up to welcome Dybala at the Square Colosseum.
Dybala represents a massive coup for Roma and you would think they had won a title with the way they presented Dybala.
Still, everybody around Roma is excited and that’s great to see; but whether he will be playing alongside Zaniolo remains to be seen.
Tottenham want Nicolo Zaniolo
Against the backdrop of Dybala’s huge move to Roma, Zaniolo has been linked with a big departure this summer.
One of the main rumours surrounds Tottenham Hotspur, with Fabio Paratici understood to be a huge fan of Zaniolo.
Reports from Calciomercato last week suggested that Tottenham had offered £25million plus Joe Rodon in a deal for Zaniolo – but Roma said no.
Roma don’t really want to lose Zaniolo but Tottenham are pushing and continue to chase a deal for the Italian playmaker.
Zaniolo, 23, was expected to become a world star with Roma but suffered two major knee injuries.
Zaniolo managed to get through last season without any issues, but managed just two goals and two assists in 28 Series A games.
A talented playmaker or right-sided winger who can cut in on his left foot, Zaniolo is still a major talent and Paratici may feel that he can become a Premier League star.

Dybala has now been asked for his view on Zaniolo’s future, telling Tuttomercatoweb that he has spoken to Zaniolo briefly about his future.
Dybala highlighted that everybody knows how good Zaniolo can be, but nobody should interfere on his future and believes the Italian just has to work it out for himself.
“We all know him, his characteristics and what he can give. I had the opportunity to talk a little with him, the choice is his,” said Dybala. “We all want to have the best players with us, we know what he can give us, but we can’t interfere with his future. I think he has to take care of it,” he added.
Roma may have been hoping for Dybala to give it the big sell and encourage Zaniolo to stay, but the Argentinian knows himself that deciding your future is tough.
Tottenham will still have hope of luring Zaniolo to England, but they will have to improve on that opening offer from last week.
