After Argentina’s World Cup win on Sunday some may have noticed that Sergio Aguero managed to get involved in the celebrations, despite not being a part of the team.
Aguero, of course, would’ve been in this squad if he hadn’t had to retire due to a heart condition last season, and his involvement here was incredibly sweet.
However, while many were discussing Aguero, another Argentine who wasn’t an official member of this squad was also getting involved in the aftermath – Giovani Lo Celso.
Indeed, the midfielder was on the pitch after the game and in the dressing room.
Lo Celso is another who would’ve been a part of this team if it weren’t for injury, and it’s a great touch that he was allowed to celebrate with players he’s called teammates for so long.
However, what is very interesting is that Lo Celso, somehow, managed to end up in possession of the World Cup trophy at the end of the evening, as showcased on his Instagram story.

The Spurs-owned midfielder actually took the trophy to bed with him despite not being an official winner of the cup.
To be honest, after the night these Argentina players probably had, they may not even remember where the trophy ended up.
The celebrations looked incredible for this group of players, and while Lo Celso didn’t get to contribute at this tournament, his efforts in qualifying and behind the scenes cannot be underestimated.
He probably didn’t deserve to take the trophy with him at the end of the night, but who cares? Argentina are world champions and that’s all that matters.
