Pogba’s move to the Red Devils from Juventus last summer suddenly looks even more important now, and shows how a close bond between pals influenced the biggest deal of the summer, leaving Lukaku suitors Chelsea stunned.
It serves as a timely lesson to Tottenham Hotspur amid interest in key player Eric Dier from Manchester United.
Tottenham must not allow themselves to be tempted, and Dier’s friendship with Dele Alli is key reason why.
When you think of present day football friendships, Dier and Alli is among the first which comes to mind. The pair are inseparable off the field as well as on it, with SkySports reporting they recently holidayed together.
Another couple of pals were on holiday together last week, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.

If Tottenham let one half of the duo go, then they cannot be naive to the possibility of his partner in crime following one day.
In a year, two year’s time, Dier could very well play the Pogba role, and start trying to tempt Alli away too.
While they would be determined to stand firm, it’s a scenario Tottenham should want no part of, as Alli is a player they simply cannot allow to leave.
Having witnessed this summer the role Pogba has played in determining a multi-million pound star’s future, Tottenham cannot cash in on Alli and risk him become an agent to facilitate an even bigger move.
