Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday – and the participation of Kevin De Bruyne is up in the air.

Spurs are facing a busy schedule. They played Everton on Friday night, and take on Southampton on Wednesday evening before then playing the Carabao Cup final.

This is a huge game for Spurs. Jose Mourinho needs this win, he needs this silverware to try and keep his job this summer. He needs this silverware to show Harry Kane that he should stay.

Beating Pep Guardiola’s side won’t be easy, but they may be having a mini-wobble; they lost to a 10-man Leeds side and were then beaten by Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final.

One of the key talking points emerging from that game is the injury suffered by Kevin De Bruyne, as he went down with an ankle injury in the second half.

The City playmaker was substituted immediately, and there are now mixed reports emerging about the severity of his injury.

The Telegraph claim that De Bruyne’s injury isn’t serious, and the coming days will show whether he could make a stunning recovery and play against Tottenham in the final.

Yet just hours later, the Daily Mail suggested that De Bruyne may face a month out of action if feared ankle ligament damage is confirmed.

Now, Spurs won’t be wishing for anybody to be injured, but if De Bruyne was to miss the final… well, Mourinho and co would probably take that pretty gladly.
