Tottenham Hotspur want Julian Nagelsmann – years after his one-time agent backed him to end up becoming Arsenal boss.
Tottenham’s managerial situation has been prime viewing over the last week and there haven’t even been any moves yet.
Antonio Conte is likely to go and there have been links to a number of potential successors – including Thomas Tuchel.
The German has completed a shock move to Bayern Munich and was presented as their new manager today.
That means Julian Nagelsmann is on his way out, with Bayern sacking him after some disappointing displays in 2023.
Nagelsmann’s availability is very interesting to Tottenham, and The Telegraph suggest that Spurs are already seeking talks with the German.
Nagelsmann is claimed to have a real affinity for Tottenham and has done for years – which is interesting given his agent pushed him as a future Arsenal boss.

Julian Nagelsmann’s agent tipped him for Arsenal
Way back in 2018, Marc Kosicke told AS that he felt Nagelsmann was primed for a move to Arsenal.
Kosicke, Nagelsmann’s former agent, suggested that the German would be ideal for Arsenal, Bayern or Borussia Dortmund.
“I am convinced that one day he will coach Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund or Arsenal, but not just yet,” said Kosicke.
This was when Nagelsmann was earning a great reputation as a top young manager with Hoffenheim.
A move to RB Leipzig followed for Nagelsmann before he ended up at Bayern in 2021.
That switch hasn’t quite panned out as well as Nagelsmann – and Koscike – would have expected.
Arsenal didn’t make their move, instead going for Unai Emery in 2018 and then Mikel Arteta in 2019.
Right now, Gunners fans aren’t exactly rushing to bring in Nagelsmann over Arteta as they push for the Premier League title.
The German could now end up in North London though with Tottenham already pushing to try and secure the 35-year-old just days after his Bayern exit.
Rather than end up at Arsenal like his agent predicted, Nagelsmann could be charged with the task of taking Arsenal down and altering the balance of power in North London – not quite what Kosicke expected five years ago.
