Tottenham are now interested in hiring Marco Neppe as their new Director of Football after Fabio Paratici’s departure.
The Italian was banned by FIFA for 30 months due to false accounting during his time at Juventus.
Now – according to Tutto Mercato Web – Neppe is an option to replace him at Tottenham.
What’s the story?
Well, the Italian news outlet mention a bunch of names Tottenham fans have already heard about in regards to Daniel Levy’s hunt for a new Sporting Director.
The likes of Tim Steidten, Lee Dykes and Markus Krosche have previously been mentioned, and are once again namedropped in Tutto Mercato Web’s story.
However, Neppe is a new name on the scene.

The 36-year-old, who took over as Sporting Director at Bayern Munich in December 2021, is now being considered by Spurs, despite a fairly patchy start to his career at the Allianz Arena as far as recruitment goes.
Neppe impressively managed to make £42.5m on Robert Lewandowski back in July when selling the Poland international to Barcelona, after he expressed a desire to leave.
To negotiate a fee like that for a 33-year-old is solid work. However, there are reasons for Spurs to be cautious.
Tottenham must be wary of Marco Neppe
While the sale of Lewandowski was respectable business, Neppe then spent £35m on a 30-year-old Sadio Mane to replace him, with Sport1 claiming that those at Bayern Munich have been left unhappy with how the signing has turned out.
Florian Plettenburg believes the Senegal international – who has scored just 12 goals in 37 appearances this season – could even be sold this summer after he punched Leroy Sane.
Neppe also spent £16m on Ryan Gravenberch, a player who has made just two Bundesliga starts this season and, like Mane, could also be sold after just one season.
According to 90min, the Netherlands international has asked to be let go due to a lack of game time.
Clearly, Neppe has experienced a hit-and-miss start to life at Bayern Munich, so Tottenham should think twice before hiring him.
