Tottenham Hotspur are now leading the race to sign Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior with a £15.5million asking price on his head.

Samuel Iling-Junior could return to English football in January with Tottenham Hotspur now leading the race for his signature.

That is according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that Juventus have now made Iling-Junior available for transfer.

Spurs are expected to be in the market for signings in January with Ange Postecoglou needing to add depth to his squad.

A centre back and a striker could be top priorities but Spurs may now seize the opportunity to sign a winger.

Tottenham Hotspur leading race for Samuel Iling-Junior

Reports from the London Evening Standard now indicate that Tottenham are leading the race to sign Juventus talent Iling-Junior.

The Independent reported in November that Spurs were looking to sign Iling-Junior and their interest now appears to have accelerated.

It’s stated that Spurs are favourites to land Iling-Junior with Juventus seeking a deal worth around £15.5million for his services.

Juventus have put Iling-Junior up for sale as he is keen to play more minutes away from Turin.

Spurs are now seeing Iling-Junior as an ‘opportunity signing’ rather than an absolute need, seemingly believing that he is too good to pass up.

Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham are also interested according to TEAMtalk, but Spurs appear to be his most likely destination as things stand.

Who is Spurs target Iling-Junior?

Iling-Junior hails from Islington in North London – and he would have to put his allegiances aside in order to join Spurs.

The Juventus talent told The Athletic in February of this year that he supports Arsenal and is cheering them on from afar in Italy.

Despite his love for Arsenal, Iling-Junior came up in the Chelsea ranks before deciding to quit the club in 2020.

Iling-Junior moved over to Italy with Juventus, starting out in their Next Gen side before rising into the first team.

The 20-year-old – hailed as ‘very technical’ by Hungary boss Marco Rossi – hs recorded one goal and three assists in 22 games for Juventus but has managed just 112 minutes of Serie A action this season.

Now seeking a move away from Juve, Iling-Junior would give Tottenham a naturally left-footed option whilst also having the ability to play in midfield.
