Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Montpelier striker Elye Wahi this summer.
That is according to a report from CaughtOffside.
It claims that Tottenham have a “concrete interest” in Elye Wahi, while London rivals Chelsea are also keen on the 20-year-old’s signature.
Ange Postecoglou could desperately do with a new centre-forward after Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich.
Spurs still have Richarlison and recently brought in Alejo Veliz, but you would have to question whether that is enough for the north London club, especially with the latter still being just 19 years of age.
Elye Wahi has so much potential
Wahi is only one year older than Veliz but, unlike the Argentine, he has experience playing in Europe. In fact, the Frenchman scored 19 goals in 33 Ligue 1 appearances last season, which is very impressive for someone his age.
It is no wonder, then, that the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea are both chasing him. With time on his side, he could become even better in the future as well.
Former France international Bixente Lizarazu has described him as a forward who has “great athletic qualities” and is “really quick”.

Could he come in and replace Harry Kane now? That is a lot of pressure for a 20-year-old. But perhaps he could still help Postecoglou’s side and then eventually succeed the England captain.
Whether it is Wahi or another forward, Spurs surely have to sign someone else who can lead the line before the transfer market shuts in September.
Richarlison has not been prolific enough since arriving from Everton last summer, scoring just one goal during the 2022/23 Premier League campaign. Are the Brazilian and Veliz going to be enough? If Postecoglou is going to take Tottenham back into the Champions League, then probably not. The former Celtic boss needs more firepower up top.
