Nottingham Forest ace Brennan Johnson is expected to be the subject of a Tottenham Hotspur transfer offer today.

Tottenham Hotspur are now expected to make a formal cash bid for Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson.

That is according to The Telegraph, who claim that sources close to Johnson’s situation expect an offer to be on the table today.

Spurs have been linked with Johnson for weeks now and Ange Postecoglou’s men now appear to ready to make their move.

Postecoglou has seemingly decided that he wants a versatile forward who can play right across the Tottenham attack.

That is why players like Gift Orban, Ansu Fati and Johnson have been linked more strongly than natural number nines.

Johnson fits the bill having played as a left or right winger as well as in a striking position.

Forest don’t want to lose their star attacker but are ‘confident’ that Tottenham will strike an agreement before the transfer deadline according to The Times.

Tottenham facing lack of competition for Brennan Johnson

Tottenham may actually have a clear run at Johnson as the transfer deadline draws ever closer.

Brentford had been very keen on Johnson earlier in the summer and returned to the race earlier this week.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Brentford have left the race though and are looking elsewhere having failed to strike a deal with Forest.

Then there is Chelsea, who were turning to Johnson after missing out on Crystal Palace star Michael Olise.

The Times reported last week that Chelsea had given up on signing Johnson having learned that he wanted to join Tottenham.

Chelsea have now moved on to Cole Palmer and look set to sign the Manchester City talent.

That leaves Tottenham in the clear for Johnson and it would almost be a surprise he didn’t end up making the move to North London.

Johnson – praised as ‘special’ by Glenn Murray – brings versatility, blazing speed, real potential and homegrown status with Tottenham believing that he ticks all of the right boxes.
