Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking at Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s previous comments on him will surely encourage the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful.

According to The Daily Mail (print edition, page 74, March 3, 2023), Tottenham are one of a number of clubs who are considering making an approach for Cooper at the end of the season.

Conte is the Tottenham head coach at the moment, hut it is not clear if the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss will stay at Spurs beyond the end of the season.

GiveMeSport have reported that Mauricio Pochettino is the favourite to replace Conte at Spurs, but Cooper is also under consideration.

The 43-year-old is the manager of Nottingham Forest at the moment.

Impressive record

Now, the Welshman has been in senior club football management only since 2019, but he did well at Swansea City and is now at Forest.

When the Welshman took charge of the Reds in September 2021, the team were at the foot of the Championship table.

Forest eventually finished in the top six and then won the playoff final at Wembley Stadium in London.

And Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was impressed by the Welshman.

After winning the Manager of the Year accolade at the LMA awards in May 2022, Klopp said, as quoted in NFN: “Thank you to all my colleagues. For example, what Steve Cooper did at Nottingham (Forest) is crazy.”
