Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Ferdi Kadioglu and he may just be ideal for Ange Postecoglou’s project in North London.

Tottenham won’t be turning their full focus to the summer transfer window just yet.

Champions League qualification is the full focus with Ange Postecoglou chasing a top-four finish.

Postecoglou and Johan Lange may have targets in mind for both scenarios; one list for if Tottenham get into the Champions League and another for if they miss out.

One target we believe to be on the radar is Fenerbahce ace Ferdi Kadioglu.

HITC Football understands that Tottenham have joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in eyeing up a summer move for Kadioglu.

Arsenal were running checks on Kadioglu in January and we think he could be ideal for Tottenham…

Ferdi Kadioglu perfect for Tottenham

Tottenham do need additional cover in full-back areas.

Emerson Royal just isn’t the type of play Postecoglou wants at right back and Ben Davies doesn’t really offer the same dynamism of first-choice left back Destiny Udogie.

Finding a player to cover both positions may be appealing and former Spurs talent Kyle Walker-Peters could fit that bill.

Kadioglu does as well though having played in both positions for Fenerbahce and can offer perfect cover for Porro and Udogie.

Kadioglu is quick and technically very impressive, partly because he has history as a winger or attacking midfielder.

The Turkey international featured in those areas for NEC Nijmegen earlier in his career and has been deployed in advanced roles at times since joining Fenerbahce.

This is key for us; think about how Postecoglou uses his full-backs, not only inverting into midfield but often pushing on and occupying number 10 roles.

It’s something pretty unique to Postecoglou’s approach and we often see Porro and especially Udogie taking up very high positions when inverting into midfield.

Kadioglu is so comfortable taking the ball in those advanced positions thanks to his history as an attacking midfielder, immediately providing some comfort to both him and Postecoglou if he makes the move to Spurs.

Kadioglu still has untapped potential at 24 and has been hailed as a ‘fantastic player’ by Spartak Trnava boss Michal Gasparik.

The familiarity on the left and right side as well as in midfield make us think that Kadioglu is a perfect fit for Postecoglou’s approach and would love to see Tottenham make this move in the summer.
