Jermaine Jenas noted on BBC One (7:57pm, January 28, 2023) that Tottenham Hotspur forward Arnaut Danjuma was moaning to his teammates during the FA Cup tie against Preston North End on Saturday evening.

The former Tottenham midfielder made the observation that when the Spurs players were not delivering the ball to him, Danjuma, who can play as a winger or as a forward, was complaining to him.

Jenas believes that this is a good thing.

The Netherlands international recently joined Tottenham on loan from Villarreal in the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old made his debut for Spurs in the FA Cup fourth-round tie against Preston away from home.

Danjuma came on as a substitute in the second half and scored in the 87th minute.

Tottenham won 3-0.

Jermaine Jenas on Arnaut Danjuma for Tottenham Hotspur v Preston North End

Jenas said about Danjuma: “The big thing is he has come in, not only has he put that ball in the back of the net and got himself a start, but he kind of had a lot to say on the pitch as well.

“When the ball wasn’t getting delivered, he was moaning to his teammates, and so on and so forth. They are all good signs.”

Encouraging

In our view, Arnaut Danjuma’s performance for Tottenham Hotspur against Preston North End on Saturday was very encouraging.

The forward looked very sharp and lively after coming on, and he was very enthusiastic as well.

Getting a goal on his debut will have also boosted Danjuma’s confidence.

Now, it is unlikely that the forward will start week in and week out for Tottenham, but he is a very good option to have for head coach Antonio Conte between now and the rest of the season, as the North London club aim to finish in the Premier League top four.
